 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND SCOPE OF WORK

Qualifications:
Applicants are required to have four years of experience or a combination of college and experience. A person shall qualify for certification licensure by meeting one of the following requirements: (1) Four year construction-related degree from an accredited college (equivalent to three years experience) and one year proven STRUCTURALLY-RELATED experience applicable to the category for which you are applying *see below
. (2) One year of experience as a foreman and not less than 3 years of credits for any accredited college-level courses. (3) One year experience as a workman, one year proven experience as a foreman and two years of credits for any accredited college-level courses. (4) Two years experience as a workman, one year experience as a foreman and one year of credits for any accredited college-level courses (5) Four years experience as a workman or foreman of which at least one year must have been as a foreman.(6) Holding an active certified Florida contractor’s license as provided in Section 489.111(2)(c)4-6, Florida Statutes.

*STRUCTURALLY-RELATED experience is defined as experience in four or more of the following Areas:

  1. Foundation/Slabs

  2. Masonry Walls

  3. Trusses

  4. Structural Wood Framing (excluding platform framing)

  5. Column Erection

  6. Formwork for Structural Reinforced Concrete.

Scope of Work:
"Residential contractor" means a contractor whose services are limited to construction, remodeling, repair, or improvement of one-family, two-family, or three-family residences not exceeding two
stories and the "accessory use structures" in connection with these buildings. An accessory use structure would be a garage, guest house, garden shed, or other outbuilding.
